About Vicky D’Incecco

Artisanal shoe brand made by Vicky herself. Crafted in the United States with Italian vegetable-tanned leathers, water-based glue, and wooden heels. 

Vicky’s objective? To improve her production process and manage to sell her artisanally crafted shoes at more competitive prices.

How did we help her at Diana Yanes Consulting?

Because we know how important is craftsmanship to Vicky and her brand’s ethics, we took care of the making of insoles and soles using the same materials she was already using and we tried options as well:

• Usual cardboard insoles, as well as vegetable-tanned leather to replace the cardboard.
• Vegetable-tanned crust for the soles in different thicknesses to test feasibility of hand-lasting and style.

For the insoles, the best option at the moment seemed to be the regular insoles. For the sole, we managed to keep the same look as hers and give a natural finish to the vegetable-tanned crust.

How the collaboration happened

Because it was an overseas collaboration, some back and forth between Miami and Milan was needed to try out and improve the samples, because the most important thing for us is to achieve an optimal result that the brand is happy to pay for. 

Seeing how it all went, I would say that one of our competitive advantages is that thanks to the established relationship we have built with our suppliers, we manage to provide our sourcing services with no minimum quantities while ensuring the needed rounds of improvements for samples.
